How it works

How to set up voicemail to text.

Sign up, dial one call-forwarding code for your carrier, and every missed call becomes a voicemail you get by email, text, and transcript. It takes about a minute, and it works on any phone — no app.

Voicemails as voice notes

On Smart and up, each voicemail is delivered to your phone as a voice note you can tap to play; Upgrade adds the full transcript right under it.

English and Yiddish

On the Upgrade plan, transcripts come back in the language the caller spoke — clean English, or Yiddish written the way you read it.

Missed-call alerts

Even if the caller hangs up without leaving a message, you will know who tried to reach you and when. Paid plans add an email alert, and Smart and up add a text.

Email copies too

Want a paper trail? Every voicemail sends an email alert automatically — Smart attaches the audio, and Upgrade adds the transcript.

Setup

Three steps, about a minute.

  1. 1
    Sign up at voice92.com

Create a free account — no card required. Voice92 assigns you a private phone number for your voicemail.

  2. 2
    Dial one call-forwarding code

On your phone, dial the code for your carrier once. On Verizon it's *71 followed by your Voice92 number; on AT&T, T-Mobile, and most other carriers it's **61*, **67*, and **62* with your Voice92 number. Voice92 shows you the exact code and number after you sign up.

  3. 3
Miss a call — get the message everywhere

Every call you don't answer now goes to Voice92. You get the voicemail by email for free, as a real text with the audio attached on the Smart plan, and as a written transcript on the Upgrade plan. Missed calls with no message are logged too.

FAQ

Setup questions.

How do I set up voicemail to text?

Sign up at voice92.com, then dial one call-forwarding code for your carrier once — for example *71 followed by your Voice92 number on Verizon. From then on, every missed call becomes a voicemail you get by email (free), by text with the audio (Smart plan), and as a written transcript (Upgrade plan). It takes about a minute and there is no app to install.

What is the call-forwarding code for my carrier?

On Verizon, dial *71 followed by your Voice92 number. On AT&T, T-Mobile, and most other carriers, dial **61*, **67*, and **62* each followed by your Voice92 number and a # — these forward calls you don't answer, decline, or that come in while your phone is off. Voice92 shows you the exact codes for your carrier after you sign up.

Do I keep my own phone number?

Yes. You keep your number and callers reach you the same way. Call forwarding only sends the calls you miss to Voice92; calls you answer ring normally.

Does setup work on a flip phone or basic phone?

Yes. Dialing a forwarding code is something every phone can do, so Voice92 works on flip phones, basic phones, and kosher phones with no app and no smartphone.

How do I turn call forwarding off?

On Verizon, dial *73. On AT&T, T-Mobile, and most carriers, dial ##61#, ##67#, and ##62# to turn each forwarding rule back off.

Ready in about a minute.

Start free, dial one code, and read your next voicemail. See how voicemail to text works or setup for flip phones.
